Delete Your Old Ways Account

If you use the Old Ways mobile app, you can delete your account yourself, without contacting us:

• Open the Old Ways app and sign in.
• Open Profile and tap Delete account.
• Read what will happen, confirm that you want to delete your account and tap Delete my account.
• If asked, sign in again to confirm. If you use Sign in with Apple, you are asked to confirm with Apple.

• Your sign-in identity is deleted from Firebase Authentication and you are signed out.
• Your email address, name, push notification tokens and the areas you requested are removed from your account.
• Automatic renewal of any Old Ways subscription is turned off.
• Historical maps downloaded to your device are removed from the device. Maps and projects you imported or created yourself stay on your device until you delete them or remove the app.

We do not erase the account record immediately. If your account has permanently unlocked maps, an Energy balance above zero or an active subscription, we keep it for as long as that remains the case, so you do not lose what you paid for. Otherwise we keep it for six months and then purge it. While it is retained, the record does not contain your email address or name. It keeps an internal user ID and your Energy, purchase, subscription, reward and map access records, and, if your email address was verified, a keyed hash of it that lets us recognize you if you sign in again.

We may also keep limited financial, audit and legal acceptance records without your contact details where needed for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling or legal reasons. Encrypted database backups kept in Cloudflare R2 may continue to contain deleted data for up to 56 days. Data held by Google, Apple, RevenueCat, Mixpanel and Sentry is handled under their own processes, as described in the Privacy Policy.

If your account received a welcome bonus, we may also keep a record that contains only a keyed hash of your verified email address and the date it was created, for up to 24 months, so that a new account with the same email address does not receive the welcome bonus again. Deleting your account does not refund Energy or purchases made through the App Store or Google Play.

If you can no longer sign in or cannot use the app, email us at vadym.bezsmertnyi@gmail.com from the email address connected to your Old Ways account and tell us that you want to delete your Old Ways account. We may need to verify that the account is yours before we act, so sending an email does not delete the account automatically. We handle these requests manually.
